For the past two weeks, Robert has been training again on the road and in the weight room to build the foundations for the tasks ahead. Previously, he had implemented his announcement to give body and soul a three-month sabbatical after more than 10 years. But with Robert, that doesn’t mean being idle.
After a family vacation in Egypt, he took care of intensive knee treatment, his studies, his friends, supporters and sponsors. He also set the mood at FIBO 2016 in Cologne together with BTRProfisport and his strength coach Johannes Luckas.
During this time, Robert also implemented his annual professional internship with the Federal Police in Berlin. In an authentic, beautifully written article that is well worth reading, Dajana Rubert reported in the “Berliner Kurier” on his exciting time in the Berlin Ostbahnhof precinct.
Since last week Robert is on the road for cycling at the Bundesleistungszentrum Kienbaum. The Olympic countdown for the German track sprinters starts there. Robert was assigned the role of preparing as a replacement for driver Rene Enders. For this he will be coached by Eyk Pokorny (Cottbus). The latter is Robert’s coach for the time being until the German championship. The collaboration came about as a result of the cooperation between the Federal Police and national trainer Detlef Uibel. Robert is looking forward to it.
