In the team sprint on Sunday evening the German trio of Robert Förstemann, Eric Engler and Tobias Wächter had to admit defeat to the Polish team by two tenths of a second after they had been in the lead at the first two intermediate times. The Germans had clearly won the qualification and after the second run they had secured their place in the small final.
The World Cup winner was Great Britain ahead of France.
“I was able to continue my upward trend after the European Championship. With a time of 17.27 seconds in the second run, I also drove the best time of the day in my position at this tournament. The 4th place with an unaccustomed line-up was okay”, Roberts sums up. Now it’s on to the second World Cup for Robert in Apeldoorn (NL), where he will also start in the team sprint on Friday
